Partou Stockwood Lane Day Nursery & Pre-School, established in 2002, is a childcare setting on non-domestic premises in Bristol, offering care for children aged 0-4 years. Operating Monday to Friday from 07:30 to 18:00 all year round, the nursery prides itself on its robust leadership and strong key-person system, ensuring that each child's individual needs are met through continuous care and strong relationships with parents.
The setting focuses on a curriculum aligned with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), ensuring children are well-prepared for school and make effective progress in all areas of their development. Staff are skilled at supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and those with English as an additional language, adapting their approach to cater to diverse learning requirements.
The nursery also places a strong emphasis on independence, healthy routines, and outdoor play, with children encouraged to engage in physical activities and develop social skills. Following a recent incident, leaders have taken swift and robust action, revisiting staff deployment and introducing further safety measures, demonstrating their commitment to maintaining a safe learning environment.

Inclusion & environment
Staff effectively meet the individual needs of children with barriers to learning and/or special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND). They actively involve parents and other professionals, closely monitor progress, and ensure timely identification and referrals for early intervention. Leaders proactively seek support and advice from other professionals, and staff receive training to implement a "graduated response" approach. They assess, plan, and review individual care and learning needs, making adaptions and adjustments to enable children with SEND to access the learning environment and curriculum. Children with SEND benefit from clear support plans and effective use of early years pupil premium funding, making effective progress.
Children engage in physical activities and play outdoors, enhancing their coordination and balance skills, and enjoy running around outdoors with their friends.
Staff consider the clarity and pace of their speech, particularly when supporting children with speech and language difficulties and those who speak English as an additional language.
We’ve had a wonderful experience with this nursery. The staff are incredibly kind, caring, and genuinely invested in each child’s development. As a member of staff who has been here for many years, I’ve had first-hand experience of the care and dedication that goes into everything they do, and it has been amazing to see my own daughter truly flourish here. We’ve been especially impressed with how supportive and well-managed her transition to the next room was. The activities are always engaging, and it’s clear a lot of thought goes into creating a nurturing environment. We couldn’t be happier and would highly recommend this nursery to other families.
Read on GoogleMy little one is just under one year old and started attending this nursery three weeks ago. She seems happy to attend, goes to the staff with open arms in the mornings. They are very communicative, always happy to chat about her day and how she’s been etc. All the staff have been friendly and happy to respond to any requests we have for her needs.
Read on GoogleA great nursery with lovely attentive, caring and enthusiastic staff who really get to know the children. The facilities are great - good outside play areas and lots of varied activities inside - and it’s located off a quiet road. Paige and the team have done a great job over the past year. Would recommend.
Read on GoogleThe staff at Partou nursery are incredible. They care so much for my little one and I trust that she is in good hands. We had some slight issues with last minute closures in the past which has meant a tweak in the opening hours but that really seems to have worked and we haven't had any of that this year. Would recommend x
Read on GoogleAVOID! I had heard bad things about this nursery when it was curious hedgehogs, wanted to try anyway as they were local so I called them but got told they weren’t taking on any new children until they sorted their poor ofsted rating out. They are now Partou and taking on children so we decided to give them another chance. We had viewed the nursery, all looked lovely and really nice staff. So we paid the deposit in September with the condition that my daughter could start in January. Turned down other nursery’s that we had a place for because we had a start date confirmed with this nursery. Then with her start date getting closer and closer, we had been emailing them a few times asking when we could do settling in sessions with our daughter and had been getting no response… We then get told we will be contacted about arranging settling in days, then we never heard a thing. We get told 2 weeks before her start date that she doesn’t have a place anymore due to staffing issues. This is so disappointing. We had been receiving generic emails from the nursery that they send to all parents about ‘staffing issues’ for a few months so they could’ve warned us in advance that she might not have a space anymore, instead they tell us 2 weeks before her start date and they ignored all our emails and queries about settling in days. So disappointed and frustrating. Wish I had listened to other people’s advice before signing up…
