Pilgrim Hospital Day Nursery is in Boston and provides care for children from birth to four years old. The day nursery is open from Monday to Friday between 7am and 6pm all year, closing for bank holidays and one week between Christmas and New Year. A range of government funding schemes for childcare is accepted.

At its inspection in April 2022, the nursery received an overall judgement of Good from Ofsted. The inspector noted that children enter the nursery confidently and are eager to learn, supported by an effective key-person system which helps them to form secure attachments. Staff build strong, positive relationships with parents, sharing information daily and through an online system. Learning takes place indoors and outdoors, with children encouraged to move their bodies in different ways. Activities include visits to a local allotment to learn about healthy food. The nursery provides meaningful learning opportunities for all children, including those with special educational needs and/or disabilities.

Pilgrim Hospital Day Nursery focuses on learning through play to help children develop self-worth and concentration. They also promote good manners and social skills throughout the day and during meal times.

What it's like

Children enter the nursery confidently and are eager to learn, enjoying the responsibility of setting up their own activities and choosing resources. Staff encourage critical thinking and safety while children engage in various activities, from cutting vegetables in the play kitchen to exploring books and acting out stories. Children demonstrate respect for one another, developing personal, social, emotional, and communication skills.

Pricing & funding

Fees are structured based on age bands for children under and over two years old. The nursery offers weekly full-time care, ten-hour and eight-hour full days, four-hour half days, and hourly rates. Meals are included in the weekly and ten-hour day rates, but are charged separately for other sessions.
