Play Pavilion Pre-School, located within Gravesend Rugby Club, offers childcare for children aged 2 to 5 years old, operating 50 weeks a year. The pre-school, which opened in January 2025, is dedicated to providing an exceptional environment where children can play, have fun, and feel secure, fostering their development and helping them reach their full potential.

They emphasise a philosophy centred on "People and Play," aiming to be a friendly, committed, and passionate team that supports children in developing self-confidence, good manners, and thoughtfulness. Play Pavilion believes in the importance of play for confidence building, exploration, social interaction, goal setting, and problem-solving, with activities designed to enhance social, creative, communication, listening, physical, and emotional skills.

The daily curriculum includes PE, music, and story sessions, alongside a forest school approach that utilises the outdoor space to promote learning across all seven areas of development. The experienced team works in partnership with parents, with each child assigned a key worker to ensure individualised attention and emotional well-being.

Pricing & funding

Fees are charged based on individual morning and afternoon sessions, with an optional early morning club and lunch. Multi-day packages are offered for bookings of two to five days per week. A minimum booking of four sessions is required.

I honestly couldn't ask for a better setting for my son. With him being on the autism spectrum, he can have his difficult moments, but the way Gail and the entire team care for him is nothing short of incredible. Thank you so much for everything you do. My child is thriving and actually looks forward to going to nursery now. Seeing him so happy has made me the happiest I’ve ever been.

My son was among the inaugural students when the pre-school opened, and it has consistently met my expectations. The educators provide personalized attention to each child, fostering their development, and offer a wide array of diverse activities. Son attends this pre-school with enthusiasm and always returns home with a smile. I have observed numerous positive changes since he began attending this institution. I highly recommend this Play Pavilion to every parent.

I have twins( boy&girl) I was looking around gravsend for good nursery for over one year but we couldn't find the one me and mother like and we think is good for our kids BUT the day we viewed PAVILION we feel a love with this place(building withe and people who works there..) They are very professional, very kind to kids and our kids absolutely love it and they have learned and improved alots things while's they going there! One of my kids need little special need and they so cool with her and support her to get more improved every single days! Thank you PAVILION ANT STAFFS THERE

We have had such a positive response to this playgroup in comparison to the nursery our little one was at. Its such a relief to have our little one be happy about where she is going. The staff are so kind, passionate and genuinely enjoy their job so it feels like the safest space. So so happy with this playgroup, cant describe in words the relief my husband and I feel about the little one enjoying this playgroup and be excited to be going.
