About this day nursery

Playwell Pre-School, located within the Eltham Park Baptist Church complex, is a well-established early years setting serving children aged 3 to 5. The nursery prides itself on offering a safe and nurturing environment where children can thrive and develop.

The dedicated team of eight fully trained staff members prioritises creating a supportive atmosphere, akin to an extended family, as evidenced by numerous positive parent testimonials. The curriculum is based on the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Framework, focusing on the prime areas of communication and language, physical development, and personal, social, and emotional development, alongside specific areas like literacy and mathematics.

How they support every child

SEND provision

Staff are quick to identify any concerns about children's development and provide additional support, including from outside professionals. This early intervention helps all children, including children who have special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) and those who receive funding, to make good progress. Staff have learnt to incorporate 'sensory circuits' into the routines for children with SEND, which energises children and helps them to concentrate.

Outdoor space

Children enjoy walks in the local area. Children show pleasure in being active and initiate games which involve vigorous exercise, such as balancing on steppingstones.
