About this day nursery

Pound Hill Pre-School, a registered charity with over 50 years of experience, is dedicated to nurturing children aged 2-4 in a vibrant and engaging atmosphere. Located within the Pound Hill Community Centre on Worth Road, the pre-school boasts modern and secure facilities, including an exceptional outdoor area utilised year-round.

Their ethos centres on facilitating each child's full potential through play-based learning, driven by individual interests. A passionate and diverse team of 14 practitioners is committed to fostering a happy, safe, and inclusive environment for both children and their families.

The pre-school welcomes all government funding for sessions and operates during term time from Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 2:30 PM. Parents interested in enrolling their children can reach out via phone or email for further information, and a registration form is available for download.

Waitlist

Pound Hill Pre-School maintains a waiting list and aims to offer placements as spaces become available. Children remain on the list until a space is no longer required or they reach school age. Play visits are arranged for children settling in during the weeks prior to their start date.

Staff work closely with outside agencies to ensure children, including those with special educational needs and/or disabilities, get the extra support they need to make continued progress.

Outdoor space

Children spend long periods of time outdoors where they benefit from fresh air and enhance their physical skills, crawling through a tunnel and balancing on beams, for example. Sometimes, staff do not plan experiences to consistently promote learning for younger children when playing outdoors.
