About this day nursery

Preston Multicultural Nursery School provides care for children aged from birth to four years in Wembley. The day nursery is open from 8am to 5.30pm, Monday to Friday, all year round, and offers government-funded places for three and four-year-olds. Ofsted inspected the day nursery in June 2023 and gave it an overall rating of Good.

The inspector noted a strong focus on developing children's communication and language skills. Staff encourage children to learn about different cultures and act as good role models for healthy lifestyles. In the outdoor area, children engage in energetic play, developing climbing and balancing skills and using wheeled toys. Ofsted found that staff give high priority to supporting children with special educational needs and/or disabilities, working closely with them and their parents. The inspector also recorded that children arrive happy and that new children are supported by gentle and caring staff.

Our ethos

The nursery's philosophy centres on fostering individual potential within a secure and happy setting, encouraging confidence and independence. They embrace a multicultural approach, celebrating diversity and fostering natural curiosity through activities and by observing various festivals. Following the Early Years Foundation Stage programme, the curriculum focuses on active exploration and developing problem-solving, literacy, numeracy, and social skills to prepare children for primary school.

How they support every child

SEND provision

Staff give high priority to those children with special educational needs and or/disabilities and those with identified delays in their learning. These children are given support in their day-to-day learning to help them reach their full potential. Key persons work closely with these children and they speak regularly with the parents about their development. This helps to make sure all children are included and receive the support they need to make good progress.

Outdoor space

Children engage in energetic play outdoors. They develop their climbing skills and take safe and controlled risks as they strengthen their balance and coordination. Children safely navigate the space available as they operate wheeled toys with confidence.

All 3 of my children have been/are here. Absolutely brilliant nursery. Teachers really care and the children love them. Very homely feel, food is great and children are supported to be independent. Would recommend to anyone with children!

Gave me an appointment today and got ready on my day off this morning and when I arrived the woman at the door told me there’s no appointment for me even though they confirmed it to me on this Tuesday and we are Friday today. Will never be coming back, they can’t organise their appointments for visits properly.
