Outdoor space

Children who prefer to learn outdoors have many opportunities to play in the well-planned gardens. They use bats and balls to develop their hand-eye coordination and ride on scooters and bicycles. They enjoy water and sand play, learning about volume and measurement as they fill and empty containers of different sizes.

I've had both my children attend Scallywags over the space of 8 years and cannot fault it! They've been amazing and accommodating to everything we've needing or any concerns have been dealt with swiftly. My youngest son needed extra help from WELCOMM and was receiving this through scallywags by their high trained staff and I'd receive regular updates on how my son was doing. Both my children really have enjoyed their time at scallywags and I have seen such positive changes in them both before starting schools and helping give them the confidence and environment to strive. Thank you to you all at scallywags for taking care of both of my children over the years. 🥰

We can’t thank ALL of the Scallywags staff enough. Our eldest attended (now 9) and our youngest is there now (aged 2). The care, the compassion, the knowledge and the dedication they put into looking after the children is just outstanding. Honestly wouldn’t have anyone else looking after our babies. We love the app they use that updates us through out the week about our son’s adventures! This even includes what he’s eaten every day. Thank you to everyone ❤️

Scallywags have been nothing but amazing with my son; we do wish scallywags was the first preschool we been with but sadly distance to travel was a issue until we moved to Weymouth .. My son isn’t fully verbal yet and is on the waiting list for autism. Rachel the Senco has been so amazing with my son I can’t thank her enough. She tries so hard with her professional experience that everyday my son is doing better with his speech and his confidence has gone through the roof. The staff also are out of this world. Lisa is so much like my son’s previous key worker, we realised on day 1 we wouldn’t regret our journey with Scallywags.

My daughter goes to this Nursery and it’s just fabulous. All the staff are so professional, friendly and caring. All the food that is on the menu for breakfast, lunch and tea is all fresh and prepared/cooked on the day. My daughter loves all her teachers and has made great friends. When my daughter first started nursery she was in nappies, with the great support from the nursery she is now out of nappies. Each day is different at nursery as they do so many different fun activities.

When choosing this childcare setting 3 years ago, I'd heard only positive reviews however, I was still apprehensive this would be the right choice as perhaps most parents are. I can honestly say our son has not had 1 single day that he has been unhappy in this setting. He runs into school, happy and ready to go. He even asks to attend on weekends! This isn't just a setting where the kids play with a few toys until home time. This setting genuinely cares about your child and their development. They're not just looking after them until pick-up, they're helping them to become brilliant, well rounded, confident, happy, kind people. I have heard that even primary schools in the area are reassured when they know a child has been to Scallywags that they will be prepared and ready for school. They (the children) have first aid training, visits from the police, fire service, animal farms, mini ballers, a yoga instructor, Carly the dance teacher, discos, watch the world cup/sports events and more. They hatch chicks, have a 7ft rainbow unicorn water sprinkler in the summer. They have heathly and delicious food which the chef shares the recipes for. They learn to sign, count, sound out and recognise letters, start to write, prep for school. Scallywags has gone above and beyond in not only caring for our child, but have played a significant role in developing him into a funny, kind, playful and confident boy for the next chapter of his life. We will be forever thankful that we chose Scallywags. Every single member of the team across all rooms, from baby to preschool have been the loveliest humans who all seem to love working there. The staff always seem so happy and make lasting bonds with the children. We can't thank each and every one of them enough.
