About this day nursery

Seesaws Day Nurseries, founded in 1994 by Lady Jayne Ackers, focuses on providing a family-centred childcare experience. Jayne, an experienced educator, established the nursery after realising the need for alternative childcare options that moved away from an institutional feel.

The nursery places children at the core of its philosophy, believing that happiness is key to learning. It has since grown to include five nurseries and three holiday clubs across the West Midlands, emphasising individuality and valuing differences in its learning approaches and activities.

The company's senior team, including Jayne Ackers, Claire Slater, Nick Ackers, Harriett Ackers, Debbie Price, and Wendy Crawford, are dedicated to upholding the nursery's values.

Our ethos

We put our uniqueness down to our values. Our values make us, us; they are the reason we work so well and are able to call ourselves a 'Seesaws family'. Seesaws works because everyone comes together, even through the ups and downs. We are open-minded, attuned, collaborative, and tenacious.

What it's like

Children are welcomed daily by warm, enthusiastic staff and enter a stimulating environment, eager to discover what awaits them. They make exceptional progress in their learning, immersing themselves in events to embed a greater understanding, such as experiencing what it is like for whales to swim through a polluted ocean. Children also enjoy a wealth of opportunities to learn about their local community, taking part in collections for baby banks and charities, and participating in events like Remembrance Day.

The care my son receives from the girls/ladies in this nursery is outstanding, he started as a very shy and timid 9 month old baby, his now close to 3 and totally another character, he loves the daily activities Mia & Niamh set, and has formed close bonds with many other staff aswell as children. Amazing and knowledgeable SEN team, that have worked closely with my family to make sure his needs are met 😊 From the Lee family x
