About this day nursery

Sharrow School Childcare Services, located in Sheffield, S7 1BE, offers nursery and Children's Centre provisions. The admissions process for the nursery and Children's Centre are handled directly by the school, while admissions for Reception to Year 6 are managed by the Sheffield City Council Admissions Team.

For prospective nursery students, parents can apply for part-time or full-time places by completing an application form online or by adding their child's name to a waiting list at the school office. The Nursery Team contacts families the term before a child turns three to discuss desired days and hours.

Similarly, for the Children’s Centre, an online application form is available, or parents can add their child's name to a waiting list at the school office, with the Children’s Centre Team contacting families when spaces become available. The school also provides support for parents who believe they are entitled to a 2-year-old Free Early Learning Place but are having difficulty accessing the necessary code.

For Reception admissions, parents are responsible for applying through Sheffield City Council by the 15th of January for a September start. In some cases, if a child is joining Reception after not attending the nursery, a short nursery placement may be offered in the final school term to help them acclimatise.

In-year transfers also go through Sheffield City Council, and while many year groups are full, spaces occasionally become available due to family relocation.
