Smiley Faces Day Nursery Ltd, situated adjacent to Shortwood Primary School in Wellington, Telford, was registered in 2004 and offers full-day care. The nursery provides an inspirational environment where children are warmly greeted by enthusiastic staff and parents can discuss their child's routines with their key person, ensuring individualised care.

The dedicated team fosters a family ethos of love and mutual respect, which is evident throughout the nursery. Staff skilfully assess children's starting points to create personalised 'next steps,' helping children make excellent progress and become confident, independent learners.

The nursery's creative staff make excellent use of the local environment for enriching experiences, such as visits to a horse paddock to feed horses and trips by bus and train to local museums and parks, broadening children's world knowledge and teaching about equality and diversity. The manager identifies the importance of outdoor learning in enhancing children's physical development. This is an area of ongoing development in the nursery, with children engaging in activities such as balancing and jumping, negotiating space, and throwing and catching various balls.
