About this day nursery

The Meadows Family Nursery Schools, including Snowden Hill Nursery in Gravesend, prioritise children's enjoyment and well-being. Established in 1988 by Valerie and Ron Cossey, the nurseries have grown from a single part-time location to six schools, accommodating over 500 children weekly.

Valerie's extensive experience as a childcare development officer and her research into leading childcare practices inform the Meadows approach. In 2008, their son Glynn joined the family business, continuing to evolve the learning methods while upholding the original values of care and early years education.

The nurseries offer engaging playrooms and gardens, emphasising calm and welcoming environments. They provide a variety of activities utilising natural resources and everyday items.

How they support every child

SEND provision

Staff work closely with other professionals involved in children's care and development. This helps to ensure children with special educational needs and/or disabilities promptly receive the targeted support they need to support them to reach their full potential. Staff use additional funding effectively, such as early years pupil premium, to support children's needs.

Outdoor space

Children have regular access to outdoor play where they can practise their large muscle skills and coordination. For example, they enjoy running, climbing up and over objects, balancing along wooden planks and jumping to catch bubbles.

Very happy with this nursery would highly recommend. The nursery has helped her with her speech and development since starting. The staff are nurturing, kind, friendly, approachable and highly professional, they treat each child as an individual and create a welcoming and safe environment for the children. We are so thrilled with the level of care and attention our daughter receives, she doesn't look back when she walks in at drop-off and has formed some lovely friendships. The staff have been so flexible with days and times over the year she’s been there which makes being a working parent a lot easier. Thank you all at Snowden hill nursery especially Destiny and Chloe. X

Both my son and my daughter have gone to Snowden Hill Nursery and both of them have enjoyed going. The staff there are fantastic, very helpful, friendly and informative. The activities they do for the children are fantastic, me and my wife have had many gifts given to us over the years that our children have made at nursery. My youngest has now graduated from nursery and will start school in September now no longer need nursery. To anyone that is thinking about putting their child into nursery I couldn’t recommend snowden hill enough. They are brilliant! I wish the lady’s all the best in the future and to keep up the fantastic work they do there for the children

Snowden hill nursery is the most amazing home from home you could ask for your little one. A team full of caring , passionate individuals who go above and beyond to ensure your child is included, supported and loved. Thank you for everything you are all amazing and we are blessed to have had our little man supported by such a great group of people.

A fantastic friendly nursery. I am so happy that my little, now 3 year old princess is at this nursery. She started at the nursery when she was just over 1 years old and it is amazing how much she has learned from the nursery. She knows all the nursery songs, can count knows her alphabet and knew all these when she was 2 from the help of this nursery. Every single member of staff are lovely. My little one had slightly anxiety leaving the house and not having a family member with her and all the staff the nursery have helped overcome this. She was also toilet trained and nappy free from the help of the staff at the nursery!! She has learned all of the biggest achievement's and milestones at this nursery. Cannot you thank you all enough, there's far too many to name here. would highly recommend.
