Inclusion & environment
Staff quickly identify where children need help and plan effectively to narrow any gaps in learning. For example, staff use a simple 12-week plan for children with minor speech delays, which has resulted in some children no longer requiring additional support.
Children are "weather warriors" and embrace outdoor play in the rain. Babies smile as they stamp in puddles to make a "splish, splash", and toddlers make a pretend worm pie with mud and rainwater, extended by staff in search of real worms. Pre-school children cooperate to draw chalk arrows and lines on the ground, riding trikes along them and around cones, showing agility and confidence in negotiating space safely.
The nursery has just been rated as 'GOOD' by Ofsted in all categories. Our children are cared for well and treated as individuals. Parents are kept up to date about their child's development and learning through daily conversations and through the tapestry system.
