Forest Feet Outdoor Nursery, located in Lymefield, Broadbottom, Hyde, provides childcare from Tuesday to Friday, 8am to 6pm, operating during term-time only. The nursery caters to children aged 2 to 4 years old.
Leaders and practitioners have created a purposeful outdoor learning space, surrounded by wild woodland, encouraging children to explore, make independent choices, manage risks, and develop secure relationships. The setting follows a forest school and Montessori approach, delivering experiences that meet the seven areas of learning and development.
Children are encouraged to explore the environment using all their senses, helping them discover their likes and dislikes and learn about sustainability. They engage in adventures such as climbing trees, building dens, and balancing on wooden beams.
The nursery supports children with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) effectively, working with professionals like speech and language therapists to meet individual needs. Yoga and stretch sessions are incorporated to support physical development and provide moments of calm.
The nursery fosters strong partnerships with parents, who can attend weekend forest school sessions and receive regular feedback on their children's progress through daily handovers, an online app, and messaging.

Leaders and practitioners support children with special educational needs and/or disabilities well. They have recently started working with other professionals, such as speech and language therapists, to ensure that the individual needs of children are met.
Children are encouraged to explore the environment using all their senses. They enjoy freedom to explore and engage in adventures, such as climbing trees, building their own dens and balancing on wooden beams they have placed over tyres.
I am so happy that I found Forest Feet! My son started in September and has loved every moment being there. As a first time mum and the parent of a SEN child it was quite nerve wrecking to find a nursery that would suit my sons free spirited nature as well as give him everything he needed for his development. Nikita is such a kind hearted and loving individual who has a real passion for children to develop in an environment and ethos that promotes self-esteem, creativity, confidence and independence. She leads her team in this ethos and has some amazing staff in the nursery. Nikita has worked tirelessly to create and adapt to my sons needs which has been an immense support to not only him but myself also. The nursery compromises of an indoor space with a Montessori layout where children can learn and play independently. The outdoor area is wonderful with various activities for the children where they can freely explore and play within nature. If you are looking for somewhere that allows your child to grow holistically at their own pace with the loving support of great individuals then this is the place for you!
