I visited St Nicholas Nursery last week and left with a smile on my face. The nursery has such a positive, welcoming atmosphere, and the children were buzzing with energy. They were fully engaged in a variety of activities, and seeing their big smiles and genuine happiness truly made my day. St Nicholas Nursery tells a powerful story — of its history, its values, and the meaningful impact it has on the local community. This was especially evident in the staff, who are a genuinely lovely team: engaged, passionate, and clearly dedicated to what they do. Every wall in the nursery caught my attention, each with its own unique character, reflecting the children’s learning journeys through their early years. The bright, creative learning approach, alongside the wide range of extra-curricular activities — including their wonderful forest school — shows how thoughtfully the nursery prepares children for the next stage of their education. I would 100% recommend St Nicholas Nursery to any parent looking for peace of mind when leaving their little ones. From the moment you walk in, you feel reassured that your children are in safe, caring hands and being supported every step of the way as they prepare for school.

My Son absolutely loves his time at nursery and always comes home excited to tell me about his day or to show me what he has made. He loves all the activities and toys within his room, and loves his time exploring in the garden riding the bikes and visiting the woodland. The members of staff in his room are amazing and i’m always being updated about his day with the most wonderful and detailed observations via the app. The management team are supportive, very knowledgeable and always avaliable should i have any questions or queries. Overall i am very happy with the care my child receives at St Nicholas and would highly recommend it to anyone.

An Exceptional Nursery That Feels Like Home After visiting several nurseries for my 3½-year-old, I struggled to find one that truly felt right. Many asked what I was looking for, but I couldn’t quite put it into words — it was more of a feeling. I finally had that feeling the moment I stepped into St Nicholas Day Nursery in Adeyfield. The grounds and building are beautiful, but what really stood out was the atmosphere inside. As soon as I entered the classroom, I felt a genuine warmth and sense of calm. The children were happy and engaged — painting planets and chatting excitedly about the solar system and my daughter immediately started exploring on her own (something she never does during visits!). A teacher, Julia, noticed within minutes that my daughter loves imaginative play and thoughtfully set up the “little people” activity for her. Another teacher gave me a helpful tip about avoiding beige clothes since the children spend lots of time outdoors and they get 'down and dirty -such a small gesture, but it showed nature would play a big part in my daughter's time there, which is hugely important in our family! When my daughter took Deputy Manager, Annette’s hand and followed her to the garden -something she’s never done with someone new, I knew we had found the right place!! I’ll be going to work confident that my daughter is surrounded by caring, attentive teachers who are truly passionate about what they do. St Nicholas Day Nursery is everything I hoped to find and more.

Visited St Nicholas Day Nursery and it was so lovely. The set up of each room is lovely, good size garden for the children to explore and all the staff members are welcoming. Especially the room leader of Squirrels who you can tell it is her passion to expand children’s knowledge and understanding.

A wonderful nursery and wonderful team. This nursery is brimming with activity and fun. The babies were so happy and settled and it was a pleasure to be shown around by such confident toddlers and preschoolers who are clearly very proud of their nursery.
