Tees Valley Tots

About this day nursery

Tees Valley Tots is located in the South Bank area of Middlesbrough and provides care for children from birth to five years old. It is open from Monday to Friday, 8am until 5.30pm, for 51 weeks of the year. The day nursery accepts a range of government-funded childcare schemes. Children have access to an outdoor area for fresh air and exercise every day, with activities provided both indoors and outdoors.

Ofsted inspected the day nursery in September 2025 and gave it an overall rating of Good. The inspector noted that children feel safe and settle quickly, with staff planning a wide range of activities to support their development. Babies are supported to explore safely, and children are encouraged to be independent. The report mentioned that recent professional development for staff has helped accelerate children's language progress. To improve, the nursery was asked to refine how group activities are organised and to build on its leadership capacity.

At our Nursery we believe that every child deserves a safe, supportive and engaging space where they feel valued and confident. Our rooms are thoughtfully designed to encourage curiosity, independence and creativity through a balance of structured learning and play. We follow the Early Years Foundation (EYFS) framework, which helps us support each child’s development across key areas, the team observe and respond to each child’s individual needs, interests and learning, ensuring that no two days are ever the same.

What it's like

This nursery provides a welcoming space where children feel safe and ready to learn. Staff greet them warmly, helping them to settle quickly and build trust. Familiar routines give children a sense of security, and they grow in confidence as they move through the day.

Pricing & funding

The nursery offers full day, morning, and afternoon sessions, with fees varying depending on the session type. Meals and snacks are included in the session fees as specified by the session times. Flexible booking patterns are available for both full and part-time care.
