About this day nursery

The Anchor SENDfriendly Centre, also known as The TAS Centre, is a specialist school committed to offering high-quality education to learners with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). Catering to individuals from nursery age up to 25 years old at its Plumstead location, and with an additional centre in Lewisham, the school focuses on providing a secure and enriching environment.

The curriculum is tailored, incorporating the Equals Curriculum, the Engagement Model, the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework, and the National Curriculum, to ensure personalised learning experiences. Innovative facilities such as a Sensory Room, Immersion Room for multi-sensory learning, and a Ball Pit Room are available to support different aspects of development.

The school prides itself on fostering an inclusive atmosphere where every voice is valued, and respect and unity are built through embracing diverse backgrounds. A unique aspect of The TAS Centre is the integral role of a school nurse, who acts as a continuous link between the school, home, and health services, offering support from the moment a child starts school through their entire educational journey.

The admissions process is structured, requiring a statement of special educational needs or an Education, Health, and Care (EHC) plan, and involves close collaboration with the Local Authority and a comprehensive assessment including home visits by management and nursing staff.
