The Annex (Busy Bees) was registered in 2014 and provides care for children aged two. It operates all year round, opening on weekdays from 7.30am to 5.45pm, and accepts funding for disadvantaged two-year-olds. Ofsted inspected the setting in September 2022 and rated it Good overall. The report noted that children are happy and thrive in a stimulating and calm environment. Staff are friendly and caring, forming secure attachments which helps children to feel safe and valued.
According to the inspector, the curriculum is challenging and staff sequence children's learning to identify and support any gaps. All children, including those with special educational needs and/or disabilities, make good progress. Outdoors, children use equipment such as a climbing frame, wheelbarrows and bicycles. Children behave very well and develop their independence and self-care skills. Partnerships with parents are positive, with good communication noted during transitions.
