The Counting House Nursery operates four private day nurseries across Birstall, Heckmondwike, and Leeds, aiming to provide high-quality childcare within safe, nurturing, and stimulating environments. Recognising the importance of finding a setting that caters to a child's individual needs while offering parents peace of mind, the nursery places children at the core of its operations.
The philosophy is centred on ensuring each day is a happy and rewarding experience, filled with opportunities for exploration, learning, and personal growth. The Counting House Nurseries strive to create a welcoming and secure atmosphere where children are encouraged to develop their knowledge, imagination, and unique personalities through engaging activities and supportive learning experiences.
The owner and director, Antony Lee, invites prospective families to visit any of their nurseries without appointment to experience the environment firsthand.

Parents talk fondly about how children love their time here.
They praise the team for the support it gives children to settle at the nursery.
Inclusion & environment
The management team is dedicated to ensuring all children can access the curriculum and overcome any barriers to learning. Children who need extra help are very well supported, with staff working well with wider professionals and quickly implementing targeted plans. This inclusive environment helps children, including those with special educational needs and/or disabilities, make good progress.
Children develop their physical skills outdoors by skilfully riding wheeled vehicles in the well-resourced outdoor area, demonstrating control and coordination. Staff teach the importance of staying hydrated and apply sun cream to promote children's well-being while playing outdoors.
