The Little Ripley Day Nursery, established in 1988, provides childcare for children aged 0-4 years. Open all year round, Monday to Friday from 7am to 6pm, the nursery focuses on creating a positive and enriching environment for young learners.
The latest Ofsted inspection, on 6th June 2024, rated the nursery as "Good" overall, with "Outstanding" for Behaviour and Attitudes. The nursery has a purposefully designed sensory room to support children with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND), aiding them in regulating their emotions.
The Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) is highly trained and works closely with other professionals and attends focused workshops to ensure individual needs are met, leading to good progress for children with SEND and those from disadvantaged backgrounds. Children regularly engage in outdoor play, which helps them to develop excellent physical skills.
Staff actively plan activities and resources to encourage learning and development, including large play equipment for younger children to enhance their physical abilities and table-top activities to strengthen early movements. Parents have expressed their comfort in leaving their children in "safe hands," and appreciate the personable "aunties" who keep them informed about their children's learning.
The nursery also maintains strong working relationships with schoolteachers to ensure a smooth transition for children, including those with SEND, as they move on to school.

My son has been attending Little Ripley since he was 14 months old. The nurture and homely atmosphere from the staff and management have always been great. My child has been so supported throughout his education and become such a social, inquisitive little boy thanks to their care. The staff are always on hand to deal with any situations or support families with home life also. I couldn’t be more prouder of the boy he has become and they have definitely got him reception ready. I will be sad to say goodbye to his nursery journey and the staff next year.
