Inclusion & environment
All children, including those with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND), are making excellent progress. Staff and managers support children with SEND very well. Managers work closely with outside agencies and organisations to ensure that children and families get all the extra help and funding they need for both present and future learning.
Children are truly in charge of their day from the moment they arrive, choosing to either go straight outside to the garden, including the forest school area, or stay inside. When older children notice that toddlers are trying to wash their hands outdoors, they purposefully go over and show toddlers how to use the tap before returning to their play.
We have had the most wonderful experience at The Lookout. I completely trust that my children are well looked after, cared for, and having lots of fun every day. The team is amazing, and it’s clear they genuinely care about each child’s happiness and development. I especially love how outdoorsy and nature-focused the nursery is – my children have loved exploring and playing outside. This nursery is truly special, and I wish my little one could have stayed here forever, but unfortunately they are now too old! I can’t recommend The Lookout highly enough – it’s a place where children thrive and families feel confident.
Read on GoogleBoth of my children have attended this lovely nursery, and I couldn’t be happier with the care and experiences they’ve received. The setting is small and nurturing, which means every child is truly known and supported as an individual. The staff are exceptional—warm, attentive, and genuinely passionate about what they do. The variety of outdoor adventures is one of the nursery’s biggest strengths. From real woodwork sessions to time in the wood or cooking on the fire pit, the children get authentic hands-on experiences that build confidence and curiosity. There is genuine engagement in imaginative and creative play. I’m incredibly grateful for the positive start this nursery has given both of my children. Highly recommended.
Read on GoogleSuch a wonderful, nuturing, supportive nursery. Our son has been attending The Lookout for 18 months and has absolutely thrived here. The staff, the setting, the meals/nutrition, the outside space, the thought out activities each and every day are just amazing. Our son also has additional medical needs and the staff have handled his condition/medication so well at all times. Really taking time to understand his condition and what that may mean for him in terms or awareness with illnesses etc. We feel very lucky to have found such a special place for our son to spend some time each week.
Read on GoogleLookout is way more than just a nursery - it's the most wonderful, loving, creative environment for little people. An almost magical setting where my wee man is free to be curious and independent, to explore and play to his heart's content. Whilst I can go about my day, secure in the knowledge that he's safe, happy and a grown-up word of encouragement or comforting hug is never far away. From muddy boots to messy play, sensory corners to meditation time, arts and crafts to real saws and hand drills - the environment couldn't be more nurturing, and the staff couldn't be more enthusiastic or kind. Being part of the Lookout Family has been one of the best parts of his pre-school years by far.
Read on GoogleOur daughter has been attending The Lookout for the past year, and we genuinely feel like we’ve become part of The Lookout family. To say she loves going to nursery is an understatement - she’s excited to go every day and would honestly rather be there than anywhere else. We’ve seen her grow, learn, and gain so much confidence during her time there. She truly thrives at The Lookout. We were initially hesitant about starting nursery, but looking back we know we absolutely made the right decision. The staff are all incredibly kind, energetic, and genuinely invested in each child as an individual. They pay close attention to every child’s needs and strengths, and they work hard to nurture and develop them. We couldn’t ask for more, and we’re so grateful for everything they do.
