About this day nursery

30am to 6pm, Monday to Friday, all year round, providing childcare for children aged 1 to 5 years. The nursery creates a calm and secure atmosphere where children happily arrive and quickly settle, building strong, warm relationships with staff who offer plenty of cuddles and reassurance.

Children are encouraged to explore mark-making in various ways, from young children making patterns in sand to older children practising pencil control with stencils, all contributing to their fine motor skills. The curriculum is designed to provide a sequential learning journey, ensuring children make continuous progress.

Staff know the children well and plan activities based on their observations. Communication and language development is a key focus, with staff modelling clear speech, introducing new words, and using additional programmes to support children, including those needing extra help, to become effective communicators.

Children also develop their physical skills through outdoor play, enjoying activities like climbing frames and riding wheeled toys, which enhance their coordination and physical health. They also learn to be independent, in ways such as putting on their coats and selecting resources.

Parents speak highly of the nursery, noting their children's happiness and the clear communication they receive from staff regarding their children's care and learning progress. Safeguarding arrangements are effective, with staff being vigilant and knowledgeable about child protection procedures.

SEND provision

Communication and language is promoted well. Staff model clear speech and introduce new words to help increase children's vocabulary. Staff use additional programmes with all children, including those in need of additional support to develop their speaking skills. These programmes help staff to focus the support they provide for children to help them to catch up.

Outdoor space

Children develop increasing physical skills. They have fun while playing outdoors. For example, they increase their coordination as they use the frames to climb up and down. They master the use of steps up, and sliding down. Other children particularly enjoy racing the range of wheeled toys up and down in the dedicated space. This contributes towards their physical health.

Both my daughters went to The Meadows Nursery and I can honestly say it was the best decision we ever made to send them to this nursery. The staff are excellent alongside the management and I cannot fault any of them. Our girls loved going there and we’ll all miss the place as today was my daughter’s last day.
