My youngest daughter started nursery at The Willows at just 4 months old. As you can imagine, leaving your first baby at nursery so young is incredibly daunting, but from day one The Willows were absolutely amazing. I genuinely felt like I was dropping her off at a family member’s house rather than a nursery. Every child is welcomed as part of the little Willows family, and that warmth and care is felt immediately. When it came time for my second daughter to start nursery, there was never any question about where she would go. I was completely comfortable with her joining her big sister, knowing she would receive the same love, support and care. Both of my girls absolutely loved The Willows – there was never a single day they didn’t want to go. The support they gave not only to my children, but to me as a parent, was incredible. I honestly can’t put into words how much of a positive impact they had on my girls’ early years. I often say that while my daughters are a credit to me, The Willows did half the work in helping shape them into the amazing girls they are today. & not to mention their outdoor space is one of the best in the north west! I will always be so grateful for everything The Willows did for our family, and I couldn’t recommend them highly enough to any parent looking for a loving, nurturing and truly special nursery.

Inclusion & environment
How they support every child
Staff use their unique knowledge of each child's abilities to plan next steps, with children's interests in mind. This includes those children with special educational needs and/or disabilities. Children who have not attended due to the COVID-19 Coronavirus) pandemic, show good progress, especially with speech and language.
Children mix magical glitter potions outdoors, taking turns to add mud and water, using various containers and giving and following instructions from each other to concoct the perfect potion mixture. They also grow vegetables and fruit in the allotment, learn about life cycles by looking after frogs in their pond, and dig for worms.
Parent Reviews of The Willows Outdoor Nursery & Pre-School
As a mum, I couldn’t be happier with The Willows Outdoor Nursery & Pre-School. The outdoor space is fantastic and my children loved spending time exploring nature, especially finding the frogs, which they still talk about to this day! The staff are all very caring, supportive, and truly attentive to each child’s needs. The nursery/kitchen staff have also been amazing at catering for one of our children’s dietary requirements, giving us complete peace of mind. Both of my children were always extremely happy, confident, and thriving during their time here. I would highly recommend The Willows to any parent looking for a nurturing, outdoor-focused nursery.
Read on GoogleMy daughter has been attending the Willows since she was 10 months old, and what a fantastic nursery it is!! Every member of staff is brilliant, they are so caring and clearly love what they do. Nursery has done a world of good for my daughter, she is the youngest in her year group, but her vocabulary is unbelievable. The outside space at the willows is amazing, the children are out rain or shine which i much prefer to than them being in front of screens. The Willows is fantastic, a lovely nursery run by lovely people. I would recommend this nursery to anyone.
Read on GoogleOur daughter started at the Willows Outdoor Nursery in September 2025 and we have so impressed with the amazing staff, outdoor and indoor facilities and amazing standard of education and skills our daughter has learnt since being there. We choose the Willows as we believe outdoor education is very important for children, we have been so impressed with facilities, she has done pumpkin picking, been involved in their allotment, outdoor kitchen, cycling and playing with her friends. The staff go above and beyond with everything they do and our daughter comes home so happy every day. We could not recommend the willows more it is an excellent nursery and pre school for all children.
Read on GoogleFrom the moment we walked in for our first visit, it felt like a 'home from home'. Our son ran in with a smile every morning and grew in confidence so much during the 3 and a half years he attended the setting. It truly is an outstanding nursery that prepared our son perfectly for primary school. The daily structure was engaging and varied with him always coming home talking about new experiences, especially out in the garden. The staff are professional, highly skilled, and clearly care about each child as an individual. It’s a safe, stimulating, and happy environment that we would recommend to any parent in a heartbeat.
