Tops Day Nursery - Lakeside, established in 2012, is an all-year childcare setting in Portsmouth for children aged 0-8 years, open from 6am to 8pm, including bank holidays, to cater to diverse family needs. The nursery was rated 'Good' by Ofsted in its latest inspection on 6th December 2022.

Children are supported by kind and friendly staff who nurture their independence and build close bonds that make them feel safe and secure. The dedicated special educational needs coordinator (SENCo) works closely with parents and external agencies to promptly identify and support children with special educational needs and/or disabilities, ensuring their continued progress.

The nursery encourages curiosity and learning through engaging activities, such as using tweezers to pick up shells and experimenting with water play to learn about volume. Outdoor learning is a key part of the curriculum, with children enjoying physical games and learning about sustainability through daily recycling and exploring eco-friendly toys.

Children are taught valuable life skills, such as self-care tasks and oral hygiene, and learn to be kind and caring towards each other, fostering a respectful and positive atmosphere.

SEND provision

My two children attend the Lakeside nursery and they really enjoy it. They are thriving, learning and so happy playing there. The staff is lovely and caring and our experience has been great. Would highly recommend them!
