Tutbury Early Years Provision, registered in 2024, operates as a childcare setting on non-domestic premises, catering to children aged 1 to 4 years. The nursery, located in Tutbury, DE13 9LZ, strives to provide a nurturing environment where children can thrive.
The latest Ofsted inspection on 11 March 2026 highlighted that safeguarding standards are met, with leaders fostering an open culture where everyone is responsible for safeguarding. Staff are praised for their genuine care and for building close relationships with all children, ensuring they feel secure.
Children with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) form strong bonds with staff and receive appropriate support to engage with learning experiences. The setting actively promotes health and hygiene, including encouraging hand washing before meals.
Children also benefit from regular outdoor access, where they can develop physical skills by balancing on beams. While the setting has many strengths, the inspection identified areas for improvement, particularly regarding the ambition and consistency of the curriculum, staff training and supervision, and communication with parents about children's progress.
The nursery is open Monday to Friday from 07:30 to 18:00 and operates all year round. The overall approach to the curriculum is based on the EYFS framework.
Our ethos
The nursery focuses on a child-centred approach to learning and encourages independence.

Amazing nursery. My son has come along way since starting nearly a year ago. All the staff are lovely. Also very flexible and reliable. The children are not stuck in a class room all day as they often go to soft plays + parks and on nature walks!
