Witham Nursery provides a welcoming environment where children aged 2 to 4 years quickly settle in and feel secure. Children are supported by staff to understand their daily routine, using visual timetables, which helps them anticipate what will happen next.

The day nursery offers a diverse range of resources that encourage imaginative play, such as younger children enthusiastically engaging with bubbles and older children pretending to prepare meals for adults. Children are given opportunities to develop their independence, for instance, by serving themselves at mealtimes and persevering with tasks like using serving spoons.

The dedicated staff team fosters meaningful relationships with families, closely monitoring each child's progress and providing targeted support when needed, including emotional development. They regularly communicate with parents, sharing strategies to ensure consistent support for children's behaviour between nursery and home.

Children at Witham Nursery develop their vocabulary, with staff introducing new words relevant to their interests, and learn to form simple sentences. The day nursery also focuses on mathematical skills, with staff encouraging confident counting and extending able children to explore addition using appropriate language.

Children are encouraged to be physically active and learn to assess risks safely during play, with staff closely supervising and adapting activities as needed, such as when equipment becomes slippery. The nursery provides funded early education for eligible children and operates all year round, Monday to Friday, from 8am until 6pm, with a team of qualified childcare staff.
