Wonder Years Nursery School, nestled between Preston Park and Withdean Park in Brighton, prides itself on being a family-focused day nursery dedicated to providing exceptional childcare. The day nursery, which opened its doors in December 2001, was founded with the vision of creating an environment where the founders would happily send their own children.

Emphasising a strong sense of well-being, trust, and happiness, Wonder Years believes these elements are crucial for children to reach their full potential and become confident learners. The nursery benefits from its own large outdoor garden, along with access to the Surrenden field and nearby woodland, fostering a connection with nature.

A free-flow system throughout the building allows children diverse development and fun opportunities, moving beyond the confines of a single room. The team is committed to creating strong relationships with parents through open communication, aiming to provide a true "home from home" childcare experience.

Our ethos

Fostering a sense of wonder is at the heart of everything we do at Wonder Years Day Nursery, as we strive to make each child feel safe, secure and valued first, as we know they need this to be able to enjoy learning. Our job is to create an environment that fosters their natural curiosity and provide carers with high skill levels to develop all of our children’s desire to learn and help prepare them for formal education.

What it's like

Children quickly embrace the rich experiences that the curriculum has to offer in this warm and inviting nursery. Staff know the children and families very well and make sure that this knowledge informs how the nursery is set up. Children love to imitate the adults and take pride in their achievements and in caring for the nursery.

Pricing & funding

Fees are charged for full days, half-day sessions, and optional early starts, with monthly invoices averaged. Funding is applied over the standard 38 weeks, and normal rates are charged during the remaining 13 weeks. Standalone funded-only sessions are offered in the afternoons.
