What it's like

Children's learning experiences at the setting are variable because activities are not always tailored to their specific needs and interests or carefully sequenced. This means some children, especially those with learning barriers, may not progress as much as they could from their starting points. However, where activities are at the correct level, children remain interested and motivated.

Inclusion & environment

How they support every child

SEND provision

Staff have received some specialised training for supporting children with special educational needs and/or disabilities. However, this has not led to high-quality practice as the support, opportunities and experiences put in place are sometimes of a variable quality, and engagement with parents and carers about plans for children's learning is inconsistent. Leaders have not considered how to effectively use early years pupil premium funding to target gaps in children's learning to raise their level of achievement.

Outdoor space

Leaders encourage children to access fresh air and be physically active outdoors. Children balance on stepping stones and use ride-on toys, which helps to develop their physical skills. Leaders have identified the outdoor area as an area they wish to develop, so that children have even more learning experiences when playing outdoors in inclement weather.

Woolpit preschool has been nothing but friendly, helpful and accommodating since my child has started there. The staff are kind and the children seem to love it. It is very clean and there are lots of activities to get involved in. I would recommend it to any parent looking for a nursery/preschool.

I couldn’t put my daughter in better hands! She loves going here and all the staff make an extra effort to make sure your child feels at home. They treat them like their own. Would definitely recommend
