Freshly cooked nutritious meals prepared on premises
ABC Day Nursery, nestled in Smethwick, provides a vibrant and largely organic environment where children aged 0-5 years are encouraged to embrace their uniqueness and natural curiosity. The nursery fosters creativity, confidence, and independence through a blend of child-initiated play and exploration, facilitated by sensitive and caring practitioners.
Children benefit from a free-flow indoor-to-outdoor setup, allowing them to engage with the changing seasons without interruption. Dedicated outdoor spaces tailored for different age groups serve as open-air classrooms, promoting self-directed learning based on each child’s interests.
These expansive outdoor areas feature quiet corners, reflective spots, and sensory experiences, including natural materials, sand, water, a sensory walkway, a mud kitchen, playhouses, a climbing frame with a slide, a gardening club, and a builders' yard. The nursery prides itself on creating a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere for all families within the community, providing individualised support to ensure every child can access diverse learning opportunities.
Transitions for new children are managed flexibly, allowing them to settle at their own pace, supported by a dedicated Key Person who also builds strong relationships with parents to understand and meet individual needs. Freshly prepared, nutritious meals are cooked on-site, maintaining a 5-star food hygiene rating, and the nursery operates Monday to Friday, from 7:30 am to 6 pm, closing only for Christmas/New Year and public holidays.

Inclusion & environment

Excellent family owned nursery next to two beautiful parks. My daughter has been to 3 different nurseries and this was by far the best (better than Ofsted Outstanding ones too). Staff go above and beyond every day to provide the best possible experience for the children in a safe and fun environment. It's a relatively small nursery and so the children get a lot of attention (and clothing items never get lost!) E.g. they take the kids to the local parks regularly and help organise a birthday party for each child to celebrate with their friends (with games, dancing, face painting etc) which they wouldn't be able to do at home with Covid restrictions. My daughter adores her teachers and has come a long way since she's joined ABC. She made lots of friends, built her confidence and developed important life skills. I couldn't recommend enough!
