Areas to develop
- 1Children are not typically making progress in all areas of learning. Babies do not develop communication and language skills readily. For example, practitioners do not always remove children's dummies when they no longer need them. This reduces the opportunities for babies to learn to babble. Babies do not always fully engage in their play and learning. This means they get bored and do not learn new actions and words quickly.
- 2Children do not always benefit fully because they are not yet able to screen out other distractions and focus on learning and build connections.
- 3Pre-school children learn the sequence of counting numbers, but they do not develop mathematics skills such as knowing how many they have in total.
- 4Occasionally, hygiene procedures are not encouraged, for example children do not always wash their hands after wiping their noses.
- 5The curriculum is not precisely planned. Some areas of learning are not as well promoted as others. Practitioners' support for developing children's language skills is inconsistent. They do not provide effective support during teaching activities to help all children access the learning more effectively.
- 6Leaders are in the early stages of identifying the improvements needed in teaching. They have not identified with practitioners what their strengths and areas for development are in relation to teaching.
- 7Not all practitioners know why the activities have been planned and how they will be used to support children's individual learning. Furthermore, leaders have not identified and adequately addressed unhealthy lunch box items. This means children are not learning how to fuel their bodies in a healthy way.
- 8Leaders are making limited assessments of the quality of the setting and are often overly positive about the setting's work. This means they do not identify and understand the setting's weaknesses well enough and do not accurately identify the areas for development.

How they support every child
SEND provision
Leaders and practitioners identify special educational needs and/or disabilities, use specialist assessment tools and work with external professionals, such as speech and language therapists and physiotherapists, alongside parents to formulate appropriate next steps. Specialist equipment is acquired so children can access the provision.
Outdoor space
Children have daily outdoor play which supports physical development; they pedal bikes, scoop mud and run in the garden and follow routines such as collecting outdoor clothing before going out.

Our three boys all attend ABC Audlem and I cannot recommend them highly enough. The children are always excited to leave the house in the mornings when they are going there and run in without looking back! They come home talking about the lovely staff and the friends they have made, and also with all their wonderful creations. The staff take the time to get to know each child as an individual, building lovely relationships and have fantastic communication with us too.They are currently going above and beyond to support potty training. Thanks to all at ABC our sons are happy, confident and creative.

We are so happy with ABC Audlem, our son loves it here, he is so excited to go, and comes home with all sorts of stories, knowledge, and experiences. The staff are so kind and always thinking of our boy, easy to communicate with and ultimately it’s all about the kids which is fabulous. We highly recommend ABC to all of our friends and family, they truely do such a fantastic job. Thank you ABC!

My son has settled so well into ABC Audlem. He absolutely adores Carina and all the other staff at ABC. Since starting there Jah'Mari has come on in leaps and bounds. He comes home happy every day from there telling me all the wonderful things he has been doing there. All the staff are very attentive and friendly. Always tell you how the children's days have been. I would highly recommend this childcare setting for anyone looking to put thier child into nursery. Thank you for all you do for my boy he loves you all very much.

We transitioned to ABC from a nursery that my boys loved because with my eldest starting at the school next door, it made life easier. Staff are welcoming and professional and my youngest has settled well. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend.
