Albion House Day Nursery, established in 2005, operates from 8am to 6pm, Monday to Friday, all year round, closing only for bank holidays and Christmas week. This “Good” rated nursery welcomes children aged 1 to 4 years old.
Children quickly settle into the stimulating environment, where staff support their individual interests and encourage managed risks, such as building a ramp for balance bicycles. The nursery focuses on supporting children in developing independence and a "can-do" attitude, observing them with glee as they jump in puddles.
Outdoor play is a key feature, with children exploring imagination-led activities like putting out pretend fires with a hose and engaging in sensory play in the mud kitchen, developing fine motor skills by pushing vehicles through mud. The nursery provides targeted support for children with Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities (SEND), utilising picture cards for communication and offering one-to-one assistance to ensure good progress.

Inclusion & environment
Staff provide support tailored to children's individual needs. They help families to access further support and make referrals to other professionals when needed. Staff use picture cards for children who have communication difficulties to help them understand what is happening next during the routines of the nursery day. Staff provide one-to-one support when required so that children with special educational needs and/or disabilities are making good progress in their learning.
Children use their imaginations as they put out 'fires' using a hose in the garden. They explore sensory play outdoors in the mud kitchen, filling up a teapot with mud and using their small-muscle skills to push vehicles through the mud, watching as they make tracks and patterns.
The absolute best nursery, I would highly recommend them! We were so unsure about placing our son into a nursery setting. He has struggled with separation anxiety and has found it hard to settle at different settings. However, we shouldn't have worried. All the staff have been so nurturing, supportive and attentive with him. They've given him the time and space he's needed to settle and shown so much kindness and support to us as a family. Just over 3 months in and the impossible has happened, we have a happy, settled little boy, who absolutely loves his time at nursery! The staff really are like a family and Lizzy the manager is an absolute angel. Thank you Albion House, we love you guys!
Read on GoogleMy LO has been with albion house since he was 7 months old and he absolutely loves it. He has a great relationship with the adults his room, he has come on leaps and bounds in his speech, confidence. My 3rd son was in the pre school room he was very ready for school in September and that was massively due to the amazing staff in the preschool. Great nursery, amazing staff. Would recommend time and again
Read on GoogleMy daughter has attended this nursery since she was around 2 years old and is now 3 and a half. The staff at Albion house are all friendly, approachable and my daughter has formed wonderful attachments to every member of staff who cares for her here. The staff here fill me with confidence when I leave my child in their care and regularly update parents on how the children are doing throughout the day, using their nursery app. All needs of my child are met every day she attends and she's happy and content when dropping her off and picking her up. The staff plan and implement exciting activities for the children to take part in throughout the days and plan around the children's personal interests, also encouraging further learning at home and supporting parents with this. I couldn't wish for a more supportive, friendly and professional team to take care of my child and it really is like a second little family! Couldn't recommend Albion House Nursery enough! :)
Read on GoogleMy daughter has attended Albion House since she was about 7 months old, I was initially concerned with her being a lockdown baby how she would connect with others, but the staff are simply fantastic. A small and close nit team who really do bond together giving the most positive experience for not only the children but parents as well. I feel confident and happy leaving her there and I have no doubt in their ability to care for her. I get updates via my phone app and photos which keep me going through my day at work, and any questions I ask via the app are answered swiftly. Albion House came highly recommended to me, and I will continue to recommend them to others. I cant thank all the staff enough for taking the time to get to know my daughter personally and investing time in her passions and interests! Thank you will never be enough!
