About this day nursery
The Daily Mile is a straightforward yet impactful initiative designed to promote physical activity among children in primary schools and nurseries. It encourages children to run, walk, or wheel outdoors for 15 minutes at least three times a week during class time.

The Daily Mile Foundation, a UK registered charity established in 2016 with support from INEOS, spearheads this global movement. Their mission is to foster a culture of physical activity in educational settings, helping children develop healthy habits for life.

How they support every child
SEND provision
Children with special educational needs and/or disabilities and those that need additional support with their language and communication skills, receive good levels of support. Staff use picture symbols and simple signs, alongside single words, to help children communicate their needs, and strategies are shared with staff, parents, and professionals to ensure a consistent approach to learning.
Outdoor space
Although children enjoy spending time outdoors being active, staff do not always plan resources or interactions in a way that maximises learning across all areas in the garden. The provider should enhance the delivery of the curriculum during outside play, so that children have every opportunity to engage in meaningful and purposeful learning.
