About this day nursery

Bluebells Nursery, part of Bluebell Studios in Liverpool, offers a nurturing and stimulating environment for young children, guided by the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework. The nursery enhances this framework with its unique "Bluebell way" of teaching, drawing inspiration from renowned early years theorists such as Maria Montessori, Rudolph Steiner, Emmi Pikler, Loris Malaguzzi, and the Te Whariki curriculum from New Zealand.

This approach fosters a child-centred learning experience, cultivating curiosity and a sense of wonder. A standout feature is their Forest School programme, where preschool children engage with nature weekly in local parks and woodlands, exploring seasonal changes, identifying wildlife, and learning about environmental care.

These outdoor sessions include activities like risk-assessing tree climbing, creating art with natural materials, and communal meals around a fire, all within a safe, delimited area. The staff, highly skilled and dedicated, undergo thorough inductions, hold enhanced DBS checks, and are paediatric first aid certified, contributing to the nursery's Millie's Mark accreditation.

Our ethos

Bluebells Nursery's pedagogical approach is rooted in the EYFS framework, enhanced by their "Bluebell way" which integrates principles from Montessori, Steiner, Pikler, Te Whariki, and Loris Malaguzzi. This fosters a child-centred, curiosity-driven learning experience, notably through their weekly Forest School programme that encourages nature exploration, environmental care, and experiential learning.
