About this day nursery

Cottage Day Nursery, established in 2007, is a warm and welcoming childcare setting for children aged 1 to 4 years. " The latest Ofsted inspection, on 5 January 2022, rated the nursery as "Good" in all areas.

Children at Cottage Day Nursery benefit from a well-embedded routine that encourages them to revisit and recall new learning through challenging and fun activities. The dedicated staff team prioritises getting to know each child's individual needs, with home visits forming a strong basis for positive relationships between children, families, and their key persons.

This "home from home haven," as described by parents, focuses on developing communication skills through engaging activities like storytelling and imaginative play. For those children who require additional assistance, the nursery's special educational needs coordinator works closely with other professionals to ensure appropriate support.

Children also develop healthy lifestyles, enjoying nutritious home-cooked meals and engaging in physical activities; they visit the local park to practise climbing skills and navigate tricycles in the outdoor area. Staff also support children in building on their prior knowledge and making connections in their learning, for example, by extending a child's idea of "pizza soup" into a "pizza collage" activity where they recall shapes and colours.

This approach helps children to make good progress in their learning and development.

Arranged for my child to attend, immediately had to pay a deposit, a change of circumstances and completely unforgiving. Can't comment on childcare facilities but management left a lot to be desired

Staff here are so rude and unprofessional! They have zero respect for their colleagues either which really creates a horrible atmosphere.
