5-acre site in Follifoot, near Harrogate. This unique setting, exclusive to the organisation, provides a 'classroom without walls' where children are encouraged to explore, experiment, imagine, and create.

The philosophy centres around child-led, open-ended play, enabling children to engage with nature through activities such as mud play, den building, using real tools, and cooking on fires. The focus is on fostering a connection to the environment, self-discovery, and developing practical skills in a free and spacious setting.

We had our 4 year olds birthday party at Born Of the Forest and from the word go everything was great! Communication from booking and up until the party was easy and with quick responses (Thankyou Vikki) The party itself was just perfect! Sarah was out party ‘host’ and forest leader, she was so friendly and helpful. The site is beautiful and so calming with so much to see and do! I feel most the guests left with things still to explore, so many guests messaged to say how lovely the party had been. Dougie loved his party and we will certainly be back for play sessions. Thankyou!

We had our son’s 5th birthday party at Born of the Forest, and it was absolutely fantastic. From the very first message, Vikki was excellent — friendly, helpful, and quick to respond, which made planning the party really easy. The forest itself is full of nature, imagination, and activities that completely captivated the children. Chris was brilliant with the kids — patient, enthusiastic, and great at keeping them engaged. They loved lighting the campfire and toasting marshmallows, while the adults appreciated being able to grab a warm drink and relax nearby. The whole setup felt safe, contained, and well organised, and every single child had the best time. It was so much better than a noisy, enclosed soft play centre — something genuinely different and memorable. If you’re thinking about a children’s party, I can’t recommend it enough. Book it and give your child an experience they’ll be talking about long after the day is over

My daughter absolutely loves the pre-school sessions at Born of the Forest. She has really developed her practical skills and confidence through open ended play in such a calming environment. A really lovely, safe and supportive environment. Can’t recommend enough 🩷

My son started Born of the Forest a few months ago and he absolutely loves it! He is so sad when it's over and always talks about his experience there at home. He loves being outside, playing in nature and sitting round the campfire. I would recommend Born of the Forest to everyone, we love it!
