Bright Horizons operates over 300 nurseries and preschools across the UK, drawing on decades of experience in early childhood education. Their approach, known as The Nurture Approach™, integrates learning with emotional wellbeing, aiming to foster healthy, happy, and well-rounded children.
The curriculum, Bright Beginnings, focuses on five key learning areas designed to build both practical and life skills, with a strong emphasis on outdoor play through spaces, Forest School, and Eco-Schools programmes. Recognising the financial pressures on families, Bright Horizons provides guidance on government childcare funding options like tax-free childcare and funded hours, and their nurseries are happy to discuss these with parents.
The nursery prioritises smooth transitions for children and families, offering non-chargeable settling-in sessions for up to six weeks before a child's start date, allowing time to build trust with their key person and familiarise themselves with the environment. They also offer freshly prepared meals, actively managing allergies, and strive to be a supportive community for parents, children, and staff.

Parents feel that their children settle quickly and thrive at the nursery.
Inclusion & environment
Staff have high expectations for all children, including those with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND). The special educational needs coordinator (SENDCo) supports the staff team effectively to ensure that children with SEND receive prompt, targeted early help and support, working exceptionally well with parents and other professionals to create individual learning plans.
Children develop an understanding of the importance of regular exercise. Staff regularly take children to visit the local park, where they have fun running with friends and navigating obstacle courses.
The nursery supports children who speak English as an additional language.
Im absolutely horrified at the negligence my daughter and I have experienced today within the care of the nursery. I was informed by phone my child had been bitten on the foot by another child, this was shrugged off by staff and i was told it was 'one of those things' i went to picky child up from nursery to find she also had a bruise on her cheek, when asked how this had happened, none of the girls within my daughters care can explain how this has happened to a 17 month old baby. I had to ask them for an accident form to be filled out for the injury to her face as i am seeking legal action for an investigation to be done of this nursery. They then lied on the accident form and insinuated the injury had 'potentially' been done by a toy oven door, this was absolutely not the case and when first asked they admitted none of them had an idea how the injury had happened, i have this verbal conversation recorded on my phone. After me telling them to write the truth on the accident form they then changed it and admitted none of them know how my child was injured resulting in a bruise on her face. This is negligence as they were not sufficiently supervising the children, first of all for her to be bitten so badly by another child, who is known within the nursery for aggressively biting other children, its broken skin and secondly for my childs face to be injured unexplainably. After being so traumatised and upset at the mistreat of my daughter within their care, I am now told I still have to give 2 months notice to cancel her place at nursery and that i have to pay the monthly fees for the next two months, i of course will not be letting her go back to this nightmare place and i definitely will not be paying for it. I will take this up separately with the debt collecting agency they set upon me and will legally be taking this further. Nobody in their right mind would knowingly let their baby into an environment where they get injured and it just gets shrugged off with zero consequence, never mind pay for this. I will be contacting OFSTED and other monitoring bodies as i am genuinely concerned for other children under the care of this place where babies get harmed and the staff dont notice and then lie about it.
