Inclusion & environment
All children, including those with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND), are effectively supported to manage risk and develop independence. Staff adapt expectations, break tasks into manageable steps, and model activities to ensure children with SEND receive the time and support needed to succeed. Children with SEND are exceptionally well supported, with staff working in partnership with parents and a range of external professionals to meet their needs. Leaders use additional funding to direct resources towards targeted training and specialist equipment to enhance inclusion.
Children develop good physical skills through outdoor play, with older children confidently running, climbing, throwing balls, and digging in the sand. They learn to manage risks as they balance on beams and jump from steps outdoors. Staff plan well for children who prefer to learn outdoors, offering opportunities to run, explore, and use large spaces to build confidence and physical skills.
Staff receive professional training to support children who speak English as an additional language, implementing strategies like sign language to enhance communication and learning.
My grandson has been at Bright Stars for over 3 years. It's an excellent nursery. The staff are all friendly, kind, dedicated and so patient with the children. It stimulates young minds through play, and teaches excellent life skills and values. I'm so glad my grandson was able to go there as it has given him the best start in his early life
