About this day nursery

Step Up Pre-School @ Dilton Marsh provides a nurturing and stimulating learning environment for children aged 0 to 5 years old. Located in a dedicated mobile classroom within the grounds of Dilton Marsh C of E Primary School, the pre-school encourages exploration and discovery through a variety of indoor and outdoor play opportunities.

The curriculum is designed to meet the Early Years Foundation Stage guidelines, with activities tailored to each age group in their specific rooms: Glow worm for 0-2 years, Bumblebee for 2-3 years, and Dragonfly for 3-5 years. The highly qualified staff, all holding Level 3 childcare certifications and up-to-date certificates in Paediatric First Aid and Safeguarding Children, are committed to ensuring children are happy, safe, and well-prepared for school.

The pre-school fosters strong community links, including hosting a Christmas Nativity play at Holy Trinity Church, partnering with Fairfield College for work experience students, and organising an annual outing for pre-school leavers to Fairfield Animal Centre. Parents are welcome to visit without an appointment to see the facilities and meet the team.

The knowledgeable special educational needs coordinators provide tailored support to meet children's individual needs and help them to make progress. Children benefit from the close partnership working with other professionals.

Staff are vigilant and minimise any risks indoors and outdoors. The inspector assessed the impact this has on children's learning during activities indoors and outside.
