Busy Bees Day Nursery at Braintree Great Notley, established in 1997, is an outstanding childcare setting for children aged 0-4 years. 30pm, the nursery provides a nurturing and child-centred environment.

The extremely skilled staff are passionate about fostering highly motivated and enthusiastic learners who demonstrate high levels of engagement in activities, both indoors and outdoors. Children are encouraged to express their ideas and make choices, contributing to their confidence as communicators.

The nursery’s curriculum is clearly defined and meticulously planned, ensuring children build upon their knowledge and make exceptional progress. Children with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) receive expert support, ensuring they are fully integrated and make excellent progress.

Staff work closely with parents and other professionals to offer targeted and specialised assistance.

SEND provision

Children with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) are expertly supported to enable them to be fully integrated in the nursery, and they make excellent progress. Staff work in partnership with parents and other professionals to provide children with the targeted, specialised support they need. The special educational needs coordinator spoke to the inspector about how they support children with SEND.

Outdoor space

The inspector observed the quality of education being provided, indoors and outdoors, and assessed the impact that this was having on children's learning.

I would definitely recommend this nursery to other parents because my child has had such a lovely experience there. The staff are so caring and really take the time to get to know each child. My little one has grown so much in confidence and is always excited to go in each day. The nursery feels warm, welcoming, and like a little community where children are happy and well looked after. As a parent, it’s a great feeling knowing my child is safe, supported, and genuinely enjoying their time there.

This nursery has an Outstanding Ofsted rating and it’s clear that this is well deserved. The staff go above and beyond to make sure the children are safe, happy and engaged at all times. They have handled my child’s allergies incredibly well, and are so inclusive. Communication home is fantastic too. There’s nothing to fault them on

Cora is our 3rd child to go through Great Notley Busy Bees, each has greatly gained through their experience at nursery, the play and learn approach has readied them each for the school journey, with Cora just a year away, I truly believe she is on course to continue her learning journey with ease.

Our daughter was here for 3 years and we couldn't have wished for a better experience. We've never questioned our decision to send her here, the care is absolutely world class and it's been the best start for her we ever could have wished for. We're sorry to have ended our journey here, thank you to Mel and her wonderful team for helping our daughter to thrive. We will always look back with the most wonderful memories!

Really wonderful nursery. They have nurtured my daughter from 3 months to school age. She has been so well cared for and really looked forward to her nursery days with excitement. All the staff on her journey have been caring and professional. Meals are nutritious, varied and cooked on site. They have helped to prepare her so well for her next step - school - that she is really excited about it! Highly recommend this nursery
