  • The enthusiastic and experienced manager leads her staff well and implements a meaningful curriculum, providing unique experiences for all children, such as looking after baby ducks.
  • Staff plan engaging and stimulating activities, working effectively with parents to build on children's existing knowledge and focus on their next steps and interests.
  • Children with special educational needs and/or disabilities and those who speak English as an additional language make good progress, with staff providing additional support and working with external agencies.
  • The manager monitors practice regularly, identifies strengths and weaknesses, and reviews the curriculum to ensure it is stimulating and fun.
  • Children demonstrate a love of books, enthusiastically listening to and joining in with stories, and staff enhance their enjoyment through a range of voices and tones.
  • The manager and staff strongly emphasise supporting children in developing good communication and independence skills, encouraging conversations and new vocabulary during activities.
  • Parents speak highly of the nursery and the "lovely and caring staff", and work in partnership with the nursery through shared home learning ideas via an online journal.

How they support every child

SEND provision

Children with special educational needs and/or disabilities and those who speak English as an additional language make good progress. Staff recognise when children need additional support. For example, they use simple sign language to ensure that children can understand instructions effectively. They work effectively with external agencies and local schools to support children's learning.

Outdoor space

The inspector observed the quality of education being provided, indoors and outdoors, and assessed the impact that this was having on children's learning.
