Chalke Valley Playschool, affectionately known as 'Chalkies', has been a cornerstone of early years education in the beautiful Chalke Valley for three decades. E.

Primary School, this Ofsted-rated 'Good' preschool prides itself on creating a warm, home-like atmosphere where children flourish. The dedicated and imaginative staff foster a love for learning through diverse, engaging activities, embracing a free-flow approach that allows children to explore their interests, whether through reading, outdoor adventures in the large garden, imaginative play in the mud kitchen, or treasure hunts in the sandpit.

The curriculum is thoughtfully designed to cater to each child's unique needs, blending playful learning with structured activities to create a balanced and joyous educational journey. In addition to nurturing preschool education, Chalke Valley Playschool also offers flexible wraparound care for school-aged children, providing a supportive environment during term time, including direct collection from Broad Chalke School.

How they support every child

SEND provision

The manager works closely with parents and external agencies to quickly identify and support children with special educational needs and/or disabilities. Leaders maintain high expectations of all children that are appropriate to their needs.

Outdoor space

Children enjoy lots of physical activities, particularly outdoors. They dig in the sandpit, play among the trees and ride bikes or scooters. They work together to lift and roll tyres, which they use for imaginative play, going on a 'safari bus' and looking for African animals.
