About this day nursery

Charis Daycare Nursery, located in Leyton, London, has been dedicated to fostering children's development since 2014. Situated conveniently within walking distance of Leyton High Road, the nursery prioritises safety with a secure buzzer system for entry.

They categorise their care across three rooms: "The Caterpillar Room" for infants aged 3 months to 2 years, "The Butterfly Room" for toddlers aged 2-3 years, and "The Tiger Room" for children aged 3-5 years. The nursery places a strong emphasis on individualised care, assigning a dedicated "key person" to each child to support their personal growth and build relationships with parents.

Their team of specialist staff holds various childcare qualifications, including Early Years Foundation Degree Level 6 or Level 2/3 in Childcare Studies, and all on-site staff are first-aid trained. Charis Daycare Nursery actively plans stimulating, challenging, and progressive activities based on the Early Years Foundation Stage framework to nurture children's mental and physical development.

They are registered to accept government-funded children and adhere strictly to adult-to-child ratios as per EYFS welfare requirements.

What parents say

Verbatim quotes recorded in the Ofsted inspection

the information they receive from staff helps them to extend children's knowledge and skills.

Inclusion & environment

How they support every child

SEND provision

Staff support all children, including children with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND), to gain high levels of independence. Staff understand that some children need additional support with their learning, and leaders and staff plan challenging learning opportunities, considering the needs of children, including those with SEND. They work together with other professionals to support children's learning where appropriate.

Outdoor space

Children spend time outside every day in the fresh air. However, opportunities for children to be physically active are sometimes limited, as staff do not always encourage children to take appropriate risks, such as running and climbing.

As a first-time mother, trusting someone else with my only son was one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to do. My son struggled a lot in the beginning settling into nursery. It was a big challenge for both of us. But from the very start, the staff at Charis Daycare Nursery, especially Miss Dee, Miss Abi, and Miss Reema, have been incredibly professional, flexible, and supportive. They understood my concerns and worked closely with me to help my son feel comfortable and safe. Their patience and kindness reassured me that I had made the right choice, allowing me to focus on my education, knowing he was in good hands. Since starting, my son has made amazing progress. His speech has improved significantly, and he’s now much better at managing his emotions and communicating his needs. The team has helped him develop essential social skills, and now he is even learning phonics, which I never expected at this stage! I am beyond grateful for the love, dedication, and expertise of the entire team. Thank you for making such a difference in our lives!

One of the Best Nurseries in Leyton and Leytonstone! This nursery is truly one of the best in the Leyton and Leytonstone area. From the exceptional management led by Miss D to the entire caring and committed team, the level of dedication they show is second to none. Miss Abbi was in charge of our son, and we couldn’t have asked for a more loving, attentive, and professional person to care for him. Her warmth, patience, and constant support made a world of difference. That said, every member of the team shares that same spirit — devoted, hardworking, and deeply caring. It’s clear that this is a place where children are genuinely nurtured and valued. We’re incredibly grateful for everything the nursery has done for our son. Knowing he was safe, happy, and thriving every day gave us such peace of mind. Thank you to Miss D, Miss Abbi, and the whole team for creating such a wonderful environment — we feel truly lucky to have been a part of it.

A wonderful place for my boys to grow and thrive!!! I am writing this review to express my heartfelt gratitude to the entire team at Charis Nursery. My two boys have been attending this nursery for the past few years, and I couldn't be more thankful for the incredible care and support they have received. First and foremost, I would like to extend a special thank you to Miss Dee, the manager of the nursery. Her dedication, professionalism, and genuine love for the children are truly commendable. Miss Dee goes above and beyond to ensure that every child feels safe, nurtured, and valued. Her exceptional leadership skills have created a warm and welcoming environment that makes it easy for parents like me to entrust our little ones in their care. I would also like to express my gratitude to Miss Rima, one of the amazing teachers at the nursery. Her passion for early childhood education is evident in the way she engages with the children. Miss Rima's creativity and ability to tailor activities to suit each child's needs have played a significant role in my boys' development. They have grown not only academically but also socially and emotionally under her guidance. The nursery itself is a haven for children. The facilities are well-maintained, clean, and equipped with age-appropriate toys and learning materials. The curriculum is thoughtfully designed, striking the perfect balance between structured learning and play-based activities. I have witnessed my boys' enthusiasm for learning grow, and their curiosity being nurtured in this environment. Moreover, the communication between the nursery and parents is exceptional. Regular updates, parent-teacher meetings, and the willingness of the staff to address any concerns or queries have made me feel involved in my children's educational journey. In conclusion, I cannot thank the team at Charis Nursery enough for the positive impact they have had on my boys' lives. They have created a nurturing and stimulating environment that has allowed my children to flourish. I highly recommend this nursery to any parent seeking a place where their children can grow, learn, and be loved. Thank you, Miss Dee, Miss Rima, and the entire team for everything you do! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Ryan & Liam's Mum
