About this day nursery

The Nook Nursery in Leyton E10 is a nurturing and calming environment designed to inspire exploration and creativity in young children. The nursery embraces "The Curiosity Approach," prioritising natural materials, open-ended resources, and intentionally designed spaces over plastic toys and brightly coloured walls.

This approach fosters a home-like atmosphere where children feel secure, valued, and encouraged to learn through playful discovery. The Nook Nursery focuses on building strong relationships, nurturing confidence, and supporting each child's unique developmental journey.

They follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework, adapting it to a child-led model that incorporates daily rhythms, individual interests, and the surrounding world to create meaningful learning experiences. The dedicated team strives to create a space that allows children to develop confidence, independence, and a genuine love for learning at their own pace, with daily outdoor time and wholesome, freshly prepared meals.

We couldn’t be happier with this nursery. From the very beginning, the team made us feel so supported and reassured. Our daughter is only 11 months old, so naturally I was quite anxious at first, but those fears disappeared very quickly. The environment is calm, nurturing, and welcoming, and the nursery team are always smiling and so gentle with the children. Our daughter settled in beautifully and adapted far quicker than we ever expected, which really speaks to the care and attention she receives every day. We’re incredibly grateful for such a wonderful team and would highly recommend this nursery to any parent.

We feel incredibly lucky to have found this nursery for our two children (almost 3 years and 9 months old). After moving from Switzerland to London, we were worried about how our older would adapt in an English-speaking environment, as she is quite shy when she doesn’t understand the language. In a very short time, we saw her open up, gain confidence, and truly start to thrive. Even though she didn’t understand any English at the beginning, she is learning the language quickly and built very trusting relationships with all the staff. The manager clearly puts her heart and soul into the nursery, and as parents, it’s so reassuring and wonderful to see. It shows in the warm, safe, and homely atmosphere throughout the setting. The whole team is kind, attentive, and clearly chosen with great care. We are truly grateful to have found such a nurturing place for our children and would highly recommend it to any parent looking for a loving, supportive environment.

My son just started The Nook Nursery on 12th January 2026 on his 15 hours free from WFC (WalthamForestCouncil). Kane has really settled in at the Nursery he loves his teacher. He has so much fun there that home time is a real problem he never wants to leave. They do loads of activities with the children like painting, drawing play with sand and water they go to the park. They given them snacks and water. They are a very friendly welcoming team. And the Nook Nursery feels like home.

Trusting a new nursery can feel daunting, however the staff at The Nook Nursery, have been wonderful with both my son and myself. They have always reassured me, provided me with daily updates and consistently go above and beyond to ensure my son’s needs are met.
