The nursery offers a curriculum where the management team is clear about its intent, providing a framework for staff to support children's development. Outside, children engage in various activities that promote physical development, including climbing and turn-taking, with staff encouraging perseverance.

For children with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND), staff work closely with a dedicated SENCo, making timely referrals to external agencies and developing individual support plans. The SENCo also collaborates with parents and local schools to ensure smooth transitions for children.

Children at Cherrybrook Nursery are confident communicators, engaging in conversations and storytelling. They also learn independence through tasks such as self-feeding during cooked mealtimes and helping with setting tables, promoting a sense of responsibility and good behaviour.

How they support every child

SEND provision

Staff liaise with the special educational needs coordinator (SENCo) if they identify that a child has gaps in their learning. Timely referrals are made to external agencies, and children have individual support plans to help staff focus on specific targets. The SENCo works closely with parents and builds strong links with the local schools to help support children's transitions. The SENCo spoke to the inspector about how they support children with special educational needs and/or disabilities.

Outdoor space

Outside, children enjoy a range of activities to promote their physical development. Staff support children to climb safely up and over a climbing frame and remind children to take turns.

Fantastic nursery, cannot fault it! My daughter has developed really well and always seems really happy to go in! Staff are lovely, and would highly recommend to anyone considering Cherrybrook for their child!

CherryBrook Nursery is a wonderful and safe environment, offering a wide range of engaging activities for the children. The staff are experienced, caring, and attentive, and the manager is exceptionally friendly and approachable. ELEONOR and Tony have made a significant impact on our son’s well-being—he truly lights up when he sees them, and their presence helps him feel secure and happy. We’re very grateful for the care and dedication they show every day.

My son will be starting soon at the nursery. I have heard very good reviews from friends. My own experience of registration and staff interaction has been excellent. Very cordial staff and great follow ups. Looking forward to the start date.

Our daughter spent three happy years at Cherry Brook which is coming to an end soon. The staff are excellent and have been integral to her development.

I like the organisation of the place and the activities for the kids biut what put me off in my visit was the extremely strong smell in both baby and toddler rooms. I was using a mask and still could smell, my husband was extremely uncomfortable as well with the smell. I don't know of the kids are changed enough or the local is not very clean but this was the main reason I chose another place.
