About this day nursery

Cherrylands Nursery in Weybridge provides care and education for children from birth to five years old. It is open from 8am to 6pm, Monday to Friday, all year round, with closures for bank holidays and one week at Christmas. The day nursery accepts 15-hour government funding for three and four-year-olds. Following an inspection in September 2025, Ofsted rated the overall provision as 'Good'. The inspector found that managers had worked to address weaknesses identified at a previous inspection.

Staff create a nurturing and stimulating environment where children settle quickly. The curriculum is well-sequenced, and staff support children's communication skills effectively. Children with special educational needs and/or disabilities receive targeted support through individualised plans. There are regular opportunities for outdoor learning and play where children are supervised as they climb and run. The inspector noted that parents feel their children are safe and making good progress.

How they support every child

SEND provision

Children with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) receive the targeted support they require to develop. Staff recognise the importance of working in close partnership with outside agencies and parents or carers, which helps to create individualised plans that provide tailored goals. In addition, staff undertake specific training to improve their awareness and knowledge, contributing to the progress children with SEND make.

Outdoor space

Children have regular opportunities to participate in outdoor learning and play. They delight in being outside in the fresh air and move around freely with confidence. Staff supervise children well as they run around, climb and develop their physical agility.

Would 100% recommend this nursery. When we attended the tour, the manager was knowledgeable of the setting and very welcoming - so glad we chose this nursery. My daughter loves attending and goes in smiling. I have huge respect for the Cherrylands team - all are so friendly and approachable!

Really cozy little nursery with onsite parking, surrounded by lovely woodland and with a nice big garden. The staff are really friendly, and the manager clearly has a genuine passion for quality in childcare and is obviously hugely experienced and knowledgeable.

Spoke to head office about spaces and viewing the nursery as I was unable to make it to the open day. Was told there was spaces in the under 2 class and children could be placed there until spaces became available in the older class. Was a totally different story when I actually attended the nursery. I was greeted at the door by what I believe to be the nursery manager who told me straight away there would be no point viewing and more so no point being put on a waiting list. I mean why have an open day and advertise if that is the case. She was reluctant to offer the tour as she said ‘there was no point’ not very apologetic or sympathetic but I felt quite uncomfortable during the brief conversation. She further went on to say she thought I was keen to view even though there was no spaces. She also said she had tried to call me but couldn’t get through. (Leaving a voicemail is quite common practise). To give this context I am full time working women, 32 weeks pregnant with twin toddlers so to even make the time to attend a nursery is a task within itself. When I pointed out it would have been useful to be told this before as I am heavily pregnant. The manager acted surprised as though you weren’t able to see my massive bump. Overall I had quite a negative experience just at the door of the nursery and wouldn’t be comfortable leaving my toddlers with people who don’t even have common courtesy to adults. There was a lack of compassion and quite a patronising tone throughout the whole conversation. Not a good first impression.
