Cliffe House Day Nursery, established in 2014, provides a warm and nurturing environment for children aged 0-4 years. Open Monday to Friday, 51 weeks a year, with sessions from 7:30 am to 6 pm, the nursery focuses on creating a safe and happy space where children can learn and thrive.

The dedicated staff team, who care deeply for the children, ensure good supervision levels and positive interactions, supporting play and development. Children learn about the nursery's 'golden rules', which helps them understand expectations and manage their feelings and behaviour.

The nursery also boasts a wonderful outdoor play area, where children can engage in a wide range of physical activities such as climbing, riding wheeled toys, balancing, and jumping, fostering their physical development and large-muscle skills. The nursery excels in its support for children with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND), with leaders and staff precisely monitoring progress to quickly identify those needing targeted support.

Outside agency referrals are made promptly, and additional funding is used for one-to-one care or suitable resources, ensuring all children, including those with SEND, make good progress. The nursery provides funded early education for two-, three- and four-year-old children.

How they support every child

SEND provision

Leaders and staff monitor children's progress precisely. As a result, they are able to quickly identify any children who need more targeted support or children with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND). Leaders ensure that outside agency referrals are made at the right time to provide appropriate intervention. They use additional funding to provide one-to-one care or suitable resources to support children's learning. This ensures that children with SEND continue to make good progress.

Outdoor space

Children thoroughly enjoy playing in the nursery's wonderful outdoor play area. They take part in a wide range of experiences to support their physical development, such as climbing, riding on wheeled toys, balancing and jumping.
