I am thoroughly impressed with the exceptional staff at Cliffe House Day Nursery, including Cathy, Usha, Mel, Samia, and the dedicated team as a whole. Their professionalism, competence, and willingness to go above and beyond for every child are truly commendable. From the moment of drop-off until pick-up, they consistently ensure that children are well cared for, safe, and secure, providing parents with complete peace of mind. My son has been attending Cliffe House for three years. As a five-year-old diagnosed with autism, non-verbal, and still in nappies, he has faced unique challenges. The staff have demonstrated remarkable understanding and sensitivity towards his cues and have adapted their approach to cater to his individual learning style. Additionally, they have thoughtfully transformed a room into a sensory-friendly space, enhancing the environment for all children. The entire team at Cliffe House Day Nursery is outstanding. As a parent with three years of experience with them, I can wholeheartedly attest to their dedication and expertise. My son is nearing graduation, and the thought of leaving Cliffe House and their support is indeed daunting. I sincerely wish he could stay longer or that they could transition with him to his new school. Overall, I am a very satisfied, happy, and appreciative parent, and I highly recommend Cliffe House Day Nursery in Shipley. The care, attention, and professionalism they provide are exceptional.
Read on GoogleI’ve held off posting a review for a while so I could properly reflect on our experience. But even with time I feel like I need to leave a review of this place. I never felt comfortable in this nursery. Every time I picked up or dropped off my son there were comments made about him or his bag or his clothes or something or other. Every time we collected him, he was just playing alone in a corner, with very little interaction. In the space of a few months he came home with multiple injuries, we had to sign off these injuries upon collection and got sent home with 3 concussion info sheets which is just crazy for the amount of time he was there. They conducted an assessment of my son without any consultation with us, then held me out in the corridor when I came to collect him to tell me a long list of all the ways my son was “not meeting expectations” which left me in tears. They had not one positive comment to make about him, just listed a dozen things he couldn’t do and made out he was behind. Worth mentioning we had a health visitor appointment the week after who said he was ahead of his age in most things and totally disagreed with the assessment. The deputy manager seems like a bully. I was once waiting to take my son home but arrived as his nappy was being changed, the deputy manager entered through a different door and didn’t know I was waiting there and spoke to the young staff member in the most horrific way and left her with tears in her eyes. I was gobsmacked by the way she spoke to her staff and in front of the kids in their care. We got to a point where my husband would take him in and pick him up because I hated going into the place. Soon after we pulled our son out of this nursery because it really wasn’t worth the worry/upset/concern. There are a couple of younger members of staff who seem to really care and are lovely, but overall I really wouldn’t recommend this nursery to other parents and had a negative experience ourselves overall.
Read on GoogleWent to look around this nursery and was not impressed at all. The staff were just lazy’ing about as the children played - some children even playing alone. The manager didn’t give off the greatest of vibes either tbh - I do think Ofsted need to review this nursery again as I don’t feel the grading they have equates to the nursery. Just look at the previous review it’s heartbreaking reading that.
Read on GoogleWe were previously at Kinder Haven and thought I wouldnt find one to match. Had to relocate due to logistics. An amazing nursery wish I had started him earlier, I drop him happy, collect him happy. Very lovely, welcoming and caring staff. Usha has always given a warming, comforting, welcoming vibe, her personality sealed the decision to send my child. Food is freshly made and ensure the kids eat something.
Read on GoogleA fantastic nursery with caring staff and a warm, welcoming environment. Our child is always happy and thriving—highly recommended!
