Crews Hill Day Nursery and Pre-School, which opened in 2022, provides a warm and welcoming environment for children aged 0-4 years. 30pm, the nursery focuses on creating a supportive atmosphere where children can settle smoothly into their day.

The friendly staff are attentive to individual needs, including settling and sleep routines for babies, and expertly support even the youngest children in exploring their environment and developing confidence. The nursery offers a well-balanced curriculum designed to help children build skills and make progress, with a particular emphasis on developing language and communication through stories, rhymes, and songs.

Children benefit from an exceptionally well-organised and spacious natural outdoor environment, which allows them to extend their physical development, learn about nature, and even participate in caring for plants and chickens. The dedicated Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCo) offers strong support to staff, working closely with parents and other agencies to create individualised plans for children with special educational needs and/or disabilities, ensuring that all children receive suitable challenges and support.

Staff take time to get to know the children, working closely with parents and other professionals. They carefully consider how to meet all children's needs and ensure that they offer suitable challenges, including for children with special educational needs and/or disabilities. The knowledgeable special educational needs coordinator (SENCo) provides good support to staff to ensure that they meet children's individual needs successfully. They work with parents and other agencies to create individualised plans to help children succeed.

Outdoor space

Older children independently remove their coats and place them on their pegs before exploring their room and outdoor space. Children enjoy an exceptionally well-organised and spacious natural outdoor environment to extend their physical development and learn to explore nature and the world around them.

A fabulous setting where our daughter has absolutely thrived. We looked at a lot of nurseries in the area, but when we came to see HSCH it was an instant “this is the one” feeling for us and a year on it has lived up to our expectations. The staff are all amazing and genuinely care for the children which is obvious at drop off when I don’t get even a sniff of a goodbye! The nursery has dedicated rooms with plenty of light and an abundance of outdoor space for the children - our little one thoroughly enjoys exploring the gardens with her key person and staff, particularly visiting the chickens. The car park is also fantastic as there is no stress trying to find spaces and it’s a very relaxed and easy experience. Our daughter is soon to transition from baby room to nursery and we are genuinely excited for the connections she will make and the fun she will have in there. We would recommend Head Start Crews hill to anyone and we are absolutely thrilled we found it! Thank you so much to all of the staff for the continued loving care you provide, knowing our daughter is safe, happy and looked after makes our lives a hundred times easier.

The team at Headstart have been so fantastic with our son who started at one years old. The settling in period was as long as we needed and tailored to him specifically, which meant we were all more confident on his first day of nursery. The team is so communicative and caring, it makes the process of sending him to nursery so much easier. The nursery has lots of room and outdoor space, including chickens for the children to see! You just get a warm feeling when you go there and see how happy and cared for the children are. Would highly recommend!

My son loves this nursery! He’s so excited to go every day it shows me it is a lovely place. There is so much outside space for the kids to play and really spacious inside too. The staff are all so kind and really care about the children. The food sounds great too and super varied! Really happy my son has a place at this nursery.

Head Start Crews Hill had been the perfect nursery and pre school for my children - we sadly have to leave soon due to relocating for work and are devasted to go! we will be hard pushed to find somewhere that can compare! The outside space and time they spend playing in the fresh air is amazing, all the different activities set up for the children to develop and learn and being updated with pictures via the app is great but the absolute best thing about head start crews hill is the staff. They are all so lovely and genuinely care about your children as individuals - leaving your child in childcare can be nerve wrecking but once we realised how amazing they all are we completely relaxed! my children thoroughly enjoy attending and will miss their teachers and friends so much. Thank you for everything! We can't recommend this nursery and pre school highly enough 10/10

This is such a great nursery, my little girl absolutely loves it here and is thriving. Her key workers know her really well and she has a great bond with them all - my little boy will also be going soon. Thank you Head Start for always taking great care of her!
