School provides lunch (St. Thomas' Restaurant)
St. Thomas' Church of England Primary & Nursery School, nestled in the heart of Lydiate, is a welcoming institution built upon strong Christian foundations. The school's vision, 'Let your Light Shine,' draws inspiration from Matthew 5:16, emphasising the unique creation and inherent value of each child.
The curriculum, known as the 'Lighthouse Curriculum,' is knowledge-based, rigorous, and progressive, aiming to broaden horizons and equip students with the skills and aspirations needed for a fulfilling life. The school fosters a strong sense of community, encouraging prospective parents to visit and engage with the admissions process.
While the primary focus appears to be on primary education, the inclusion of 'Nursery School' in its title suggests provisions for younger children as well, although specific details regarding nursery activities, age ranges, or session structures are not readily available on the provided pages. The school prides itself on its Christian values, which include compassion, thankfulness, responsibility, peace, friendship, and respect, integrating them into all aspects of school life to prepare children for their future.

Inclusion & environment
Accurate assessments identify any gaps in children's learning or any specific needs. Early help is provided for children with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) and, if appropriate, multi-agency support. This helps to ensure the needs of all children are met effectively. Children, including those with SEND, gain confidence in communicating and discovering new knowledge.
Staff plan many opportunities for children to develop their physical skills. For example, children enjoy daily opportunities to explore the climbing wall, bicycle track and slide.
