About this day nursery

Forest Footsteps Childcare offers a nurturing and stimulating outdoor-focused learning environment across two locations: Chandlers Ford and Romsey. Originating from the closure of Ramalley Preschool, the Chandlers Ford setting was established by Owner and Senior Manager, Erin Cuffley.

The nursery is dedicated to providing flexible childcare options for families, encouraging children to explore the natural world through fun, engaging, and developmentally appropriate activities.

Our ethos

Every day at Forest Footsteps Childcare is focused on exploration, 'Learning through Play' and enjoying the outdoors. Children’s ideas and interests are reflected in the activities, resources, materials and outings that we provide. All experiences, activities and routines will be a learning opportunity for developing and progressing the understanding of children in all areas of their learning. We encourage them to contribute their ideas, take part in risk-assessing their choices; all whilst giving them independence and options to support their development. Our key aim is to foster curiosity and to aid children in becoming resilient, lifelong learners. All experiences are play-based. Some are free choice and others are adult-led, structured activities that are linked to the interests of the children. This allows them to take ownership of their learning, follow their own patterns of play, build on their own natural curiosities and learn at a pace suitable to their age and stage of development.

Forest footsteps are wonderful! Would highly recommend! My child has attended from 8 months old, the nursery has always been a like for like from home! They really listen to you and what your child needs. The setting is fantastic, so much to do and learn! I am so pleased I chose this setting to help me raise my son. Erin and the team are fantastic!
