Good Foundations Day Nursery, established in 1995, provides year-round care for children aged 0-4 years in Carlton, Nottingham. The nursery received a 'Good' rating in its latest Ofsted inspection on 3rd June 2024.
Staff thoughtfully plan activities based on children's developing interests, helping them to recall knowledge, practice early writing skills, and learn new vocabulary. For instance, pre-school children participate in activities identifying animals in different environments, while staff introduce new vocabulary such as 'hooves, claws and paws'.
Children are also supported in developing independence skills, from older babies learning to use cutlery to pre-schoolers helping to tidy resources. The nursery provides multiple opportunities for children to develop muscle strength and coordination through outdoor play, with staff supervising toddlers on large climbing apparatus and babies as they pull themselves to standing.
Parents appreciate the flexibility and support from staff, noting their children are developing social skills and making new friends. The nursery also provides additional support for children with special educational needs and/or disabilities, with the special educational needs coordinator actively involved in supporting these children.

My daughter has attended here since January 2021 and has recently left to start school. Can't recommend this nursery enough. They've been absolutely amazing with her throughout her years here. The staff are really welcoming and friendly, there's always lots of lovely activities going on.
